ROWENA MICHAEL

“A Class act with the common touch”

Nominated for “Best Supporting Actor” 2003 – Canberra Area Theatre Awards

Rowena is a young lady with the big voice and warm stage presence that endears her to any audience whether they are young or old. She is equally at home singing pop, jazz and classical styles of music.  She can tug at the heartstrings with a soulful ballad; heat up the mood of a crowd with the latest pop hits or some great crowd favourites of the past – all professionally presented in her own unique style.

Rowena graduated from the Australian Institute of Music with a B.A. (Mus) in May 2001 where she studied vocal, jazz, tap and dramatic art. She won and placed in many classical and operatic sections of eisteddfods throughout Sydney and she won the Macarthur Singers Award Scholarship in 1999.

Rowena has also appeared in many musical theatre company productions performing regularly since 1999 including “Joseph and His Technicolour Dreamcoat”, “Oklahoma” (she played Laurey),
“Les Miserables, “Sweet Charity”, “The Haunting” and “Pirates of Penzance”

In 2003, Rowena was nominated as “Best Supporting Actor” for her role in Les Mis at the Canberra Area Theatre Awards.

In 2016, Rowena was honored to perform with the international Italian Tenors for the NSW leg of their tour. Rowena Michael is, without doubt, a class act who will continue to entertain and excite audiences for many years to come.
